12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS TAG!

Monday, December 08, 2014 0 Comments A+ a-

Beautiful typography by Abbey Sy. =)

First of all, I apologize for posting this sooo late! But I personally think this is such a gorgeous idea, a big thank you to Ali from Aliology for tagging me! I won't spend a lot of time explaining the whole tag, but you can head over HERE (I find the need to scream that) to read Ali's explanation (which is honestly better that whatever I can come up with). To sum up things, basically, you are tagged to post Christmas-y things for 12 days within December. I am very excited for this because one, I LOVE December and two, I LOVE Christmas even more! So, join me and let us do this wonderful tag!

Seeing as it is a bit too late to tag specific people as the second week of December just rolled in, I'm just going to tag all of you reading this right this moment! I truly, truly apologize for being such a failure with all these tags. =((( I hope you will still join in even though this is posted so late. :< I'll be pestering people to do this tag as well to kinda redeem myself. =)

DAY ONE of this tag will be up tomorrow. Can't wait to read yours as well! Leave me a link down on the comments below and I'll get reading! Ta-ta for now! =D

(((Also, a side note, I was COMPLETELY unaware that my previous Monday blog posts failed to actually be posted, so guess who's getting three consecutive annoying words from meee? Yooouu!)))))

A Letter to the Boy on Stage

Monday, December 08, 2014 1 Comments A+ a-

As you sing the last lines of the song everyone's heard on the television, radio, and all over the internet, hundreds and hundreds of girls scream your name - including me. You close your eyes and softly, so softly sing the last words. The crowd goes silent and I knew. I knew they were all falling in love with you all over again just like I was. You open your eyes and smile as you scan the stadium. I've seen that smile thousands of times on posters plastered around the walls of my room, on billboards I pass on the way to school, on social media websites I visit daily - that smile was so familiar. Yet at this exact moment there is something entirely different about it. I see the passion reflected in them. You were also falling in love. But not with me. You were falling in love with everyone and everything at that exact moment. You genuinely loved what you were doing; performing, regardless of everything that was happening outside of that stadium. Inside, your dreams were happening. And with that, the dreams of a million other girls are also being fulfilled.

I look at you and I see a boy with pure talent and so much passion. I see a boy who could change people's lives by just doing what they do best. I see a boy who is in love. I'm just a face in the crowd, barely visible from where you are. To you, I'm just one of the many - millions, even - of other girls. Little do you know that you mean more than the world to me. The impact you had on my life is unbelievable. It's weird though, isn't it? How millions and millions of girls all over the world cling to the hope that one day, you might see them as something beyond a fan, a girl who you deserve and could deserve you.

I'd like to cling on to that hope too, if you don't mind.

**
This is a bit crappy as I wrote this on the bus ride home when I was really tired, but inspired. There's a huuge possibility that I'll rewrite this someday and tweak a few things to make it better. But, yeah, here it is for now and I hope you liked it! =)

NOVEMBER FAVORITES!

Monday, December 08, 2014 0 Comments A+ a-

Hola amazing people of ze blogoverse! This post is supposedly for last last monday, but for some reason, it failed to post. So here it is! I added a few other stuff amd decided to post it today as well. As you may or may not have noticed, this is the very first time in the history of the Sempiternal Reader blog that I am posting an "Insert Month Here Favorites"! November and December are two of my most favorite months, so I decided to make a month favorites list solely for the two! Now, this isn't much like the usual favorites list where it's either a list of make-up (which I have NO idea how to properly appy) or clothes (which I am probably too poor to buy), this favorites list is basically about everything I loved this month, so weyhey, let's get the ball rolling!

1.  NaNoWriMo
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. Every November, writers all over the world come together to take the challenge of finishing a 50,000-word novel. It's fun and crazy and here's a look at my stats this year:
I didn't win, but hey I had fun and I'm pretty proud of that word count. =D

2. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and Outlast
I have absolutely no idea how I got into horror games all of a sudden as I am a very... *cowardly* person. But, I honestly loved these games (okay maybe not the latter)! FNaF2 is a jumpscare game where basically you work in this pizza place where robot thingies (called animatronics, I think) roam around at night to kill you. It requires heck a lot of strategy too. This game is playable with the lights off, I suppose. Or at least I did. Now, Outlast, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT PLAY THIS IN THE DARK. A summary of how I feel about this game: (Re-using Daniel Howell's statement about Slender Man) Producers of this game should provide diapers along with the game.

3. CrashCourse
I found myself crying in the middle of the night trying oh so hard to get the writings on my textbook to transfer to my ever refusing brain. And I stumbled upon *drumrolls* CrashCourse! **Huzzah!** CrashCourse is basically a Youtube channel run by 1/2 of the vlogbrothers, Hank Green. He explains a lot of stuff from Bipolarity to Politics and Islam in separate short meaty videos.

4. "Thrilla in Manila" by Greyson Chance
I swear I have listened to this song way too many times! It's so different from the old (or young, I suppose) Greyson Chance, and although I love that Greyson very much (hey throwback to Grey singing Papparazi on Ellen!), I am also in love with the Greyson right now! I am honestly very excited to hear the entirety of Planet X. It's been so long since I've tuned in to Greyson and I miss him sooo much!

5. Four
One Direction's new album, Four! Who doesn't love this? Come on. Even if you don't love 1D, you can't deny it's a good **great** album! My current fave tracks are Fireproof, Night Changes, and Fool's Gold. What about you, loves?

6. Geometry Dash and GTA V
This game (Geom Dash) is the most frustrating yet enteraining game yet. I love the music and the challenge as well!

I may or may not have lost my GTA V photo of the game and Los Santos map. Will put it up as soon as I find it in my heap of photos =(((((((((((((((((

Totally a big leap for me (GTA V) since I'm used to Pokémon and Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing, but GTA V was absolutely AMAZEBALLS! You could take selfies! Play Tennis! And a lot other stuff I am too lazy to narrate! A vid of my brother and I's gameplay is up on our gaming channel right here, so check that out if you're interested!

7. Merlin, Gotham, Tokyo Ghoul, and Doctor Who!
THESE ARE ALL AMAZING TV SHOWS AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU GIVE EACH ONE A CHANCE =D

HERE'S A MERLIN BLOOPER REEL FOR YA'LL! =D SUPER MEGA THANKS TO THE MAKER/COMPILER!

Aaaand that concludes my faves! I'm very excited to hear from you guys too! So if you have anything to say, anything at all (except maybe Dr Who Series 8 spoilers), type it down on the comments below and let's chat! Bye bye for now!

Andrea Reacts: Night Changes Music Video

Sunday, November 23, 2014 2 Comments A+ a-

I know, I know, you're all wondering (or not) why there's suddenly a Sunday blog post. Well, folks, I didn't plan this either. I've never blogged on impulse and I always, always overthink about my post topics, but tonight, or this morning (it's past 3AM from where I am), I just feel the need to release the fangirl caged inside of me. I know some people are going to say this is really boring, but this is really important to me, so you could just skip this post and go on with your lives. =)

The Night Changes Music Video. This 4-minute and a single second video meant the world to me. I teared up when I first watched it (which was two hours ago). I replayed it several times and by several, I mean almost 73 times. This video is just adorable and it basically fulfilled most of my dreams. I mean, seriously, a date with all five of them? I couldn't care less if it went on as breaking all my limbs, my hat being puked on, you catching on fire and me getting spilled by water thingy, getting chased down by police for over speeding, or my ex-boyfriend crashing in. I had an amazing time watching this video. It served as a constant reminder of why, of all the people in the world, I chose to truly fall in love with these five dorks that don't even know I exist.

I think you're a little too hot, love.

Hey, I came in here with you, right? And nothing's going to change that. NOT EVEN THIS GIANT PRICK WHO DECIDES TO SPILL WATER AND PASTA OVER YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE.

I may not be able to see them in concert in my country next year, but I know that time will come and I will see them.

Patience is a virtue, yeah? ((((Money Management in this case as well HAHA))))

I'll see you guys Monday night for another blog post! =)

Back (Again)!

Monday, November 17, 2014 3 Comments A+ a-

Hey! Hi! Hello! I am sooooo sorry for the long absence, but guess who's back (again)? Moi!
Literally my back on the picture.

Anyway, I am super thankful for all the online award nominations (Sunshine & Liebester), but I won't be able to post up my answers here. =( I originally typed up all my answers on my old laptop months ago, but the poor thing finally broke down and we had to bring it to tech help store thing. It got reformatted, but since it sucked so bad, my dad decided to just give it away (no I'm not really sure, but it's not here anymore sooo). I am truly sorry for all the mess. I really am very, very thankful for all the nominations. =) So a very special shout out to all the amazing people who nominated me; Ali from Aliology, Alexa from Beyond, Rhiannon from A Little Red Notebook, and Alexis from SunDuckling! Check them out these great individuals! =D

Also, guess who's got another one-shot for you guys (by 'you guys' I mean my imaginary readers)? Moi (again)! It's posted on my new wordpress blog (Adventures with Andrea), which basically houses all my stories, whether personal (like the I Wrote This For You) or fictional. If you have time, please check that out and I shall love you forever. =)

UPDATE: Site is currently under renovation as well, I'll open it up again once all the clutter's gone. Huzzah!

Enough about me, it's your turn! Yes, you! What have you been up to? How're you enjoying the cold weather? Have you started Christmas shopping? If so, any NoveCember (December + November) favorites? Share them down at the comments below!

Side note: I'm stalking the blogs I like starting today just to catch up, so fear not if you get a comment from a post two months ago or something. I missed you lovely people! Hope to read more from you all again! Also hoping to make more blog posts and add up content on this blog. Renovating soon!

October Favorites

Friday, October 03, 2014 1 Comments A+ a-

Hey guys! Apologies for the hiatus. I want to make this really short, but a bit meaningful. Throughout my absence from the blogoverse/blogsphere/whatever you call the blog world, I discovered and did a lot of things that I'd like to share with you guys. From books to movies to news to activities and people! So, here it goes.

BOOKS

I recently finished first book of the Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu and it was very good. This book has been on my to-read pile for months and I'm really happy I decided to read it. Catch a synopsis of the book by clicking the cover! :)

Also, I'm re-reading House of Hades (the 4th installation of Heroes of Olympus Series) in preparation for the release of the 5th book, Blood of Olympus. The excitement is real!

MOVIES
Guys! The Maze Runner movie has been winning over foreign box offices! I watched this on the second day of screening and it was absolutely worth the looooong wait. They changed and missed a lot of things, that I must admit, but it still remained faithful to the book. The story, the excitement, and the fuel-filled plot is still there. Can't wait to watch Scorch Trials! Read about the second movie here.

I also discovered an old Zac Efron movie that I loved from the moment I watched the trailer. It's called Charlie St. Cloud, and it's definitely a must-watch! :D

SITES

I am currently planning my *toot*teenth birthday and I have decided that it will be Harry Potter themed! HP definitely has a special place in my little heart and I've always wanted to have a Potter party! These sites have helped me gather so much inspiration and motivation:

http://www.harrypotterpartyideas.com
http://partydollmanila.com/marcus-harry-potter-themed-party/
Pinterest people that I forgot to bookmark :<
"Potter Heritage" on Facebook
"Potterhead Shop" on Facebook

A very big virtual hug and thank you! And here's to hoping this will work out! :)

EVENTS
Unfortunately, I failed to attend this year's Manila International Book Fair. But, there's an upcoming event I would never want to miss and that issssss

If you're around the area and will be attending, scream "Draco Malfoy!" and I'll say hi haha :)

ACTIVITIES
Congratulations Ravens for winning the 6th Pottermore House Cup! Sadly, Slyths ended up 4th, but we're definitely ready for one more shot.

INSERT POTTERMORE SCREEN CAP HERE (I'm so lazy T_T sorry)

And it's official, we're going to have Prom! Any dress suggestions? Tell me in the comments below! :D

PEOPLE
Let me just tell you that the whole cast of The Maze Runner movie did an amazing job! Cheers to them and their major success. :D

Also, check out this cover of Amnesia (originally by 5SOS)! I had this on my playlist for days! :)

Aaaand yeah, that's it. I hope you guys had a rocking September too! Here's to a good October ahead! And thank you so much for the nominations for blogger awards, I'll do them soon. Also, many thanks to positive comments on my last post. I feel you guyyyssss! :D

With love and virtual oreos,

I Wrote This For You

"'Cause I've got this friend who's crazy about you,
I've got this friend who can't be without you,
I've got this friend and I wish I could see
How this would end if you knew it was me."
- I've Got This Friend, 5 Seconds of Summer

I watch in the sidelines as you walk up to her. You nervously tousle your hair with your hand and take a deep breath, and then start talking to her and she flashes you a smile, I bet it's not as bright as you imagined it would be. I try to smile too, as if my moral support would radiate to you from where I was standing. I feel a tug in my chest as you talk more and she smiles more, but I keep watching. You ask one final question and she nods as an answer. I finally look away, but I didn't need to see to know that you're grinning in that goofy way that you do.

"Hey, she said yes!" You beam as you happily hold me by the shoulders at arms length and shake my soul out of my body.

I hold back the thoughts before they turned into words, and laugh instead. "Told you you could do it!"

"I can't believe I actually did! Thanks! God knows I love you!" You envelope me in a hug and I hug back weakly. Do you understand the effect you have on me? The effect of those words you tell me?

The moment you let go of me, I have second thoughts of telling you everything; from the butterflies to the drumrolls to the backflips my stomach makes, but reason tells me it won't do me any good. What I had with you wasn't a legit boyfriend and girlfriend relationship, but I wouldn't give anything to lose whatever it was that we shared.

"I'll see you later, okay? Ice cream, my treat. You deserve it!" You say as you begin to walk away and head to your next class. I smile as I watch you go; that way you walk, the way you swing your arm, the way you run your hand through your hair, the way you smile at everybody. You were so gorgeous in your own little way.

You congratulated me when I got over all my stupid exes, when I stopped looking at myself lower than everybody else, when I finally passed a Math exam. You always told me how great I was doing with life. How good I was at saving myself. You were wrong. It wasn't just me. It was you. You pushed me to believe I was better than what I deemed myself to be. But you also showed me how to have fun, how to just enjoy the life I'm living.

I bet you don't understand the joy I feel when I realize how close we've gotten. And I bet you don't see the sadness I feel when I realize this is the extent of what we could be. You were the sweetest sadness. The sole responsible for that bittersweet feeling.

I like you for all your positive qualities and your amazing personality, but I love you for all your defects and weirdness and inconsistency and everything that comes with being friends with you. But you can't see this. Maybe you never will.

Dear Future Self: It's All a Matter of Perspective

Thursday, August 14, 2014 2 Comments A+ a-

Sometimes we underestimate the ability of our own minds. We let outside forces bring us down. We let other people tell us that we’re not smart enough or pretty enough; up to the point that we cause our own destruction. We let their opinion influence our own. And, let me tell you, that this is sad and it sucks.

Although the opinions of others are to be given importance, when it comes to our own persona, it’s what we think of ourselves that matter. We forget that our brain has the ability to turn everything around. It’s all a matter of perspective.

Being a person who can’t take criticisms that well, I’ve learned that all you have to do is to find those positive charges (a little term I use haha) from negative comments. The people that hurt us make us stronger (cliché, but true). The tasks and challenges we face now prepare us for even harder ones in the future.
It’s all about which way you look because the wind is gonna blow no matter what.

RIP Robin Williams. =’( It hurts to think that a person who made so many people happy couldn't make himself happy too. May he rest in peace.

Glancing at Your Wrists

Sunday, July 13, 2014 2 Comments A+ a-

I don’t know how to start this, so I’ll just go super straight to my point: Regardless of how heavy your problems are getting, cutting isn’t always the answer. In fact, it never is.

I was dying inside last night when one of my closest friends told me she wanted to cut again. She did it multiple times before, but with the help of our other friends, thankfully, she stopped. Last night, she told me she was having a lot of family problems and her boyfriend broke up with her a few days ago. She said it was too much for her to handle. Then she started telling me how she should’ve never been born and that everything about her was a mistake. I tried to contradict everything she was saying and I tried to show her that people care about her, but she was too blinded by anger, confusion, and hurt.

I felt so unhelpful that night. I couldn’t go to her house since it was late and my parents would never allow me to. I tried my best to comfort her and tell her everything I can in my power to stop her from doing what she wants to. But there’s still that constant fear that she’ll do it anyways. After a few hours of talking, she told me to go to sleep and then went offline. I couldn’t sleep, thinking she would go to school tomorrow with new cuts on her wrists.

The following morning, the moment I stepped off the school bus I went to her classroom and hugged her. She smiled and showed me her wrists; nothing but the scars before. I hugged her again and the joy I was feeling was indescribable. I was so proud of her. She thanked me for being there and she told me how stupid she felt when she was holding the blade last night. By cutting, she wasn’t only hurting herself; she was also affecting the people around her. She told me that although she hated the whole world, she loved us, even more than she loved herself.

The message I’m trying to send out to everybody reading this? Cutting won’t solve your problems. I know I won’t be able to stop everyone who cuts, but I know very well that they can stop themselves. The first step is always the hardest, but it’s something that only you can do.

I know that I’m just this stranger to you, but if there’s anything, anything at all, that I can help you guys with, don’t be afraid to shoot me a message. Plus, you have a father in heaven who hears every word. You don’t need an internet connection to reach him, you don’t need phone credits. You just need to find the time to kneel down and talk. =)

Rediscovering the World of Caped Crusaders

Thursday, June 19, 2014 1 Comments A+ a-

The past few weeks have been quite hectic with the start of school and such, so I decided to find something useful (not exactly) and enjoyable to do on weekends to kind of reward myself for getting through another week. As if watching movies, eating, reading and being in bed all day isn't enough of a reward. Anyway, my most recent form of entertainment is... Entering the universe of caped crusaders and superheroes!

*drumrolls* The Liebester Award!

Thursday, June 12, 2014 1 Comments A+ a-

This post is a few days late (being the punctual person that I am.) But I decided to do it anyways. So, yeah, I got nominated for the Liebester Award! Whoop! whoop! Special thanks to Sarah from A Glimpse of Blue for nominating me! That came out really unexpected, but my gratitude is beyond measure. :)

Also, I'm fairly new to these kinds of things, so please forgive me if I get anything wrong. :D

Rules that I solemnly swear to follow:
1. Link the blogger that nominated you
2. Answer the 11 questions they have written for you
3. Give 11 random facts about yourself
4. Nominate other bloggers with under 200 followers who you think deserve the award
5. Post 11 questions for your nominees

Questions from Sarah:

- If money wasn't an object, what would you do?
Probably create a library of some sort that contains all of my special picks and make it open to the public. I seriously love recommending good books to people and finding out their reactions after reading. Books are one of the most amazing ways to connect people. :)

- What is your favourite book and why?
Usually when people ask me this, I go on full rage mode and explain how hard it is to answer this. There's simply too many! But since I'm going to have to choose one anyways, I'm gonna go with the one that really made a great impact on me, which is "Paper Towns" by John Green. It's funny and inspiring at the same time. I learned a lot of wise words in this book. I'll stop here to avoid a really long and quite emotional breakdown about the book. :)

- If you could spend the day with anyone (has to be a real person) throughout all of history, what would you do and what would you talk about?
Forgive me for such cliche answers, but I'd like to spend the day with Ringo Starr. I got hooked to the Beatles a few weeks ago, thanks to my new friends who kept passing their songs to me. The Beatles' rise to fame is astonishing, really. They were a worldwide sensation. Everybody knew them, even until now. Anyway, I'd probably spend the day with Ringo watching different concerts, showing him how much music has changed over the years. Then I'd probably go all interviewer mode and ask him about his life or so.

- Sweet or savoury?
Sweet. I don't have a sweet tooth, I have SWEET TEETH. I currently take the shape of a small marshmallow because of this.

- What five songs would be on the soundtrack to your life?
> "Weightless" by All Time Low
> "Young Volcanoes" by Fall Out Boy
> "I am His Daughter" by Russ Dixon
> "Hey Jude" by the Beatles
> "That Girl" by All Time Low

- (I'm stealing Freya's here ^^) Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I wanted a place where I could put my thoughts and share them to people who might just feel the same. Also, my relatives found these really big journals I used to write in, and they suggested that I create an online blog to practice my writing skills and to interact with people sharing the same interest. It's been about 6 months since I started blogging, and well it's been great. :)

- If you could be invisible for one day, what would you do?
Go to the people who helped me in the past, but I never got to thank or was too scared to. I'd do simple and quiet acts of kindness for them. I'd also possibly sneak into movie theaters and watch movies for free. Hahahaha

- What is your favourite thing to do with friends?
Watching movies. My friends and I have different movie tastes (don't mind that made up term haha). But we all like movies in general, so basically once a movie comes out and one of my friends like it or tells us that it's worth watching, we'd watch it all together. We watched The Fault in Our Stars just last week and the boys CRIED. Yepp, they CRIED. We're watching 22 Jump Street this weekend, and I'm really excited! :D

- Most embarrassing childhood moment?
When I was in 1st Grade, I needed to poo so badly, but we were in class. So, I had to hold it in for a full hour. After that, I silently went to my teacher and told her my situation. We had this small bathroom inside our room and she told me to go ahead and do my business. So, I did. The relief was amazing, guys. But then I looked around and found no tissue. Also no soap. Let alone a bucket of water. The sink was a bit far and I was small so I couldn't reach it. So, being the little genius that I was (see the sarcasm?), I stayed there, sitting on the toilet, inhaling the beautiful smell of my own creation. After about forever, several knocks came to the door and I was too scared to speak. So, the teacher must have called our maintenance guy, because the door suddenly unlocked and a pair of about 20 1st Graders plus my teacher stared at me, sitting on the toilet.

I was scarred for life.

- If you could live in any fictional universe, what would it be and why?
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I love the Wizarding World. It's amazing and I'd give anything to live in that universe. Who wouldn't say no to Hogwarts? A trip to Hogsmeade? Honeydukes? This place is simply so beautiful. I mean, a place with flying broomsticks, pigmypuffs, potion making, wands, magic, and a lot more? Despite all of the dangers, I'd still choose this place over the others.

- Fashion or comfort?
Definitely comfort. I was never one to choose looking good and standing out over being comfortable with what I'm wearing. Plus I'm pretty sure it's possible to be comfortable and fashionable at the same time. :)

11 Random Facts:
1. I am honestly too short for my age.
2. I have a thing for potatoes, they're my absolute favorite vegetable.
3. I feel quite the same about tomatoes.
4. My childhood dream? Nope, it ain't Disneyland. It's The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando plus Draco Malfoy's wand (not THAT wand you evil, evil person!)
5. I name all of my possessions.
6. My phone's name is Bob and my netbook's name is Eli.
7. I hate carnivals. My first trip to one didn't go so well.
8. I still have "Call Me Maybe" on my phone. It used to be my ringtone.
9. Andrea is my second name. I don't really like people calling me by my first name.
10. I prefer DC's animated movies over Marvel's, but I gotta admit, Marvel nailed the CGI movies.
11. My second favorite number is 11. :D

My Nominees:
Kiyara from Normalien World
Ali from Aliology
Mika from Chasing The Dreamer

My Questions:
- (I'm re-using this too!) Why did you start blogging?
- One song that can make a bad day turn into a good one in an instant?
- If you were stuck in an empty room for a week and can only bring one person and one book, who and what would you pick and why?
- If you wake up one day with superpowers, would you use them for good or for bad?
- Favorite work by William Shakespeare? Or if not by Shakespeare, any classical work that made a great impact on you?
- FanFictions: Yes or No?
- If you could conduct a great battle between two fictional characters from different universes, who would you choose and why?
- Who are your favorite Marvel and DC superheroes?
- What is your earliest childhood memory?
- If you could re-name yourself, what would your new name be and why?
- Who is your all-time favorite villain?

Simple Things Appreciation Post

Thursday, May 29, 2014 5 Comments A+ a-

Due to recent tragic events, I've decided to write a simple and quite shallow blog post about the nice things in life we often forget about when problems weigh us down (okay maybe it isn't as shallow now that I think about it).

Here's a photo I found (credits to the original owner) about the nice things in life. I 100% agree with all of it.

CHOCOLATE
This is undoubtedly one of the best inventions ever. Chocolate can make even your saddest days brighten up. It's also quite a good habit to always ALWAYS note: When you're sad, it's probably the Dementors, so the obvious solution to your sadness? Yepp, chocolate. Unless you're lactose intolerant, in that case, please ignore this.

GOOD HAIR DAYS
You know that feeling when you get up in the morning and your hair is just tame and unusually fluffy and shiny and you don't even need to brush it? Puts you in the happiest of moods, I tell ya.

VIDEO GAMES
I'm into more on farming/simulation kinds of games like Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing (found myself playing these games 'til midnight! Look at how adorable these characters are! :D)

CRUNCHY LEAVES
When you see a crunchy leaf on the ground, there's this invisible force that makes you wanna stomp on it for no other reason than to hear one of the most amazing sounds on this planet; crunching leaves.

FRIENDS
Oh come on, I bet my bananas everyone reading this right now has friends who can always, always turn that frown upside down.

CAKE
Who doesn't love cake?

DOGS
I absolutely LOVE dogs! My gramps owns four at the moment; an Azkal named 'Blacky', a Rottweiler-Labrador named 'Scotty', a German Shepherd named 'Patchi', and my favorite dog on the planet, another Rottweiler-Lab named 'Yogi' (the reason behind the name? He looks a LOT like Yogi the bear). My gramps loves big dogs, thus the breeds. He lives in a farm with my grandma, so it's pretty appropriate.

POTATOES
My favorite vegetable! Hey did you notice that in the photo, the maker misspelled vegetable? It says 'the versatile vegatable'. :)

CATS
I'm more of a dog person, but cat GIFs on Tumblr are adorable! Here's one:

INANIMATE OBJECTS WITH FACES
Who finds these things nice? Everyone? Good.

BOOKS
I was going to type a three page long essay about how I feel about books and the magic they bring, but I'll spare you that and instead here's an accurate photo:

INTERNET
I'm pretty sure we don't have to discuss this.

TV MARATHONS
There are those days where I just find myself in the comfiest spot on the sofa, food in one hand, the remote on the other, and my eyes glued to the television screen, now THAT is one of the nicest things in life, people.

PIZZA
Out of all the food in the world, Pizza is probably the best. I like any kind of pizza, but my absolute fave is pepperoni. The thing about pizza is that it's delicious hot AND cold.

ART
I ain't an artist and that's quite obvious, but I do love looking at art! Check this out, it's a drawing made by one of my schoolmates. I don't suppose you still need me to tell you who the guy she drew is?

A SNAKE WEARING A TINY HAT
'nuff said.

There are a LOT more nice things in life that I could name, but I'm afraid I'm a lazy person and you're probably tired of me already, so this marks the end of this blog post! See ya! :)

All photos are not mine, so credits to the rightful awesome owners. :D I was too lazy to look for a photo for all the categories, so yeah. Forgive me. :))

P.S.
Wanna know more about Blacky, Scotty, Patchi, and Yogi? I'm writing a bit of a story about them soon and I'd love to put it up here. :)

ODCD No More

Tuesday, May 27, 2014 0 Comments A+ a-

Hello internet! As I'm sure I would just bore everyone if I explain my long absence, I'll get straight to the point of this blog post.

ODCD stands for One Direction Concert Depression (catchy, huh?). Yes, well, I've been suffering from this depression ever since they announced that this certain British-Irish band is coming to Manila. I should be happy, right? I waited more than three years for this opportunity and I've gone through countless fights with haters from school (not physical fights though, I'm small and lanky for crying out loud), so shouldn't I be celebrating?

Wrong.

Why? Because shortly after that glorious announcement, they released an official date for the ticket sales. Which was set FOUR DAYS AFTER. Yepp, they didn't give me a year or a month or a week to save up, they gave me 4 DAYS.

I know, I know, you're probably going "Then why didn't you save up before the announcement, girly?"

I've been saving up for concert tickets ever since I joined this fandom and I'm not even halfway to 17,000 Philippines pesos yet.

But, my parents knew how much I wanted to go, so they were ready to pay 3,750 pesos for a Gold Ticket. I researched on it and it's pretty far from the stage, and I had this sort of belief that if you are going to a concert, you better get yourself to the front row because what's a concert when you can only see heads of the people in the crowd? And I'm kind of one to never settle for less.

Anyway, so yeah, I went along sulking and begging and pleading and a LOT of crying until the day of the ticket sales came and I realized WHY AM I DOING THIS TO MYSELF?

I wiped my tears, stood up (okay maybe I stayed in bed for a few minutes more), walked out of my room, walked into my parents room and I proudly declared:

"I love One Direction more than you can imagine. I've been in this fandom for three years and counting. I know that you're always saying that this is just a phase, but you have to realize that it's not. Just because they aren't wearing capes does not mean they can't be my heroes. They were there when almost everyone wasn't. I didn't buy their albums to look at their faces, I bought it for the music. I loved them for the music. They're not just a boy band to me.

BUT

I also love myself and you guys. I'm thankful that you were willing to give what you can. I know 17 thousand is a lot and no, I'm not here to ask for it. I'm here to let you know that I don't want to go to a two-hour concert that will probably just feel like a particle of sand when I look back 5 to 6 years from now. I appreciate the money you make and the hours you sacrifice to work for it and I don't want it to go to waste. I'm not going.

Oh and good morning."

My mom and dad just sat there, gaping at me. They later thanked me though and I had some kind of a two hour talk with them how soon when I get myself a job I'll be able to do what I want to, but for now I just have to study really hard.

Fast forward to the end of the day, the ticket sales came on the news and there were about a hundred teenage girls crying because the TICKETS SOLD OUT. Yepp, it was that fast. Even the parents of the girls were crying.

As I sat there, watching them, I seriously thought:

"I am SO glad I'm not going."

That last line would've been an amazing last liner for this blog post, but I have one last thing to say.

THERE'S A SECOND SHOW. THEY APPROVED A SECOND SHOW.

So, now, I don't know how to feel about that.

*sigh* But right now I'm just going to enjoy the last of my donut and click that little publish button. :)

Oh and it feels right to say it's good to be back. :D

P.S.
Check out the new blog look! I changed the template into a simpler one and also changed the header. Don't mind my face, that's just a temporary thing until I figure out what I can put on that circular frame. :)

The Book Boyfriend Tag

Monday, April 21, 2014 1 Comments A+ a-

Hey guys! I was going around the blogoverse yesterday in search of good blogs to follow and spend time in, and I found a really cool blog post idea down at Weaving Pages by one of my awesome blogger idols, Rita. Every month she has this segment called “Book Boyfriends” and basically she would give a book character (male, obviously) and ask around why they would be the perfect boyfriend. It was really fun to read and I have this fetish for watching people fangirl.

Anyway, today I had the idea of adapting the idea (what?). But, I’ll make a slight change. Instead of doing it every week and asking around, I’ll be sharing my Top 5 Book Boyfriends, Why, and A Favorite Photo of Them (It could be your own face claim of what he would look like, a fan art, or the actual actor if the book has a movie adaptation). After that, I’ll be tagging people to post the same kind of thing and then they’ll tag people too and so on and so forth. However, if the tagged people are not interested or they don’t want to do it, that’s absolutely fine. :) I won’t bother putting rules and such since I just want this to be fun.

Sometimes the Internet is too much for me. . .

Hey guys! Yes, I’m still alive. And I’m baaack from my little blogging break! Yesterday, I was scrolling around Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr to find something interesting to blog about, but you know what I found? A poopload of photos that; gives me the fandom feels or scares the living daylights out of me or makes me laugh really loud which makes my little sister thinks I’m insane. So, I gathered the photos I found yesterday and decided to show you guys!

1.    Tumblr People
Aah... yes, the world of Tumblr. Inhabited by awesome people who have the ability to scare you or kill you (by laughing, of course).

2.    Relatable. Truly, relatable.
It’s nice to know you aren’t the only one who gets depressed due to the ending of a book :D

3.    Fandom Clashes
I don’t mean ‘clash’ in a bad way, I swear.

4.    FEELS
I just can’t-

5.    HP
There’s just something about Daniel Radcliffe’s facial expressions that amuse me.

6.    Divergent Fans Being Divergent Fans
Letting Divergent fans loose on the internet? This is what happens. Not saying I don't like it though. I love it.

7.    Weirdly. . . Cute
Enough said.

8.    I can’t.
Because Calum looks like Olaf here. Note, this was after their show last last night. Malum, anyone?

Now we know why our generation is quite messed up. But, I mean that in a good way. I have loads of Tumblr friends who are really witty, Twitter buddies who are like FBI agents, and Facebook friends who can edit better than movie poster makers. =D

I don’t really see the point in this blog post, but I had fun scouting for those photos up there and I hope you guys liked it too! :) Full credits to the owners of the photos back at Tumblr, FB, and Twitter. I apologize for not specifically mentioning you guys. I lost track on who owns what. =(

P.S.
Anyone here a fan of the Percy Jackson Series? If you remember Rick Riordan announced a new book about Percy telling us about some Greek Myths in his point of view! Well, here’s the new scoop! I’m soooo excited to get my hands on this beauty.
