An Open Letter to Santa

Tuesday, December 22, 2015 1 Comments A+ a-

Totally irrelevant to the post, but a very important message.

If you wait a little while, virtual snow starts falling. Nothing makes me feel Christmas-y than snow. Although I've never actually experienced snow before. Santa, would it be possible to ask for snow in the Philippines? Why, yes, Andrea, it would be possible to ask for snow here, but it would be impossible for it to actually happen.

That's some sick climate change issues if it would.

Anyway, I'm writing an open letter to Santa.

Hey, old friend! It's Andrea, the little girl who wished for roller skates back in 3rd grade. You never gave them to me, but that's okay. I reckon I wasn't very nice back in 3rd grade anyway. I'm writing you an open letter in the hopes that you actually accept any form of letter, be it electronic. It would be super cool if I found out you use the internet! You probably do.

Anyway, only 3 days before Christmas! I know what you're expecting me to say, Santa. You want me to go along the lines of "I don't want an iPhone, a brand new laptop, a trip to Japan, or a band member. I want world peace". Thing is, Santa, I'm not going to lie; I do want those material things. But I also want world peace.

But world peace seems like such a heavy thing to grant, right? I mean, I know you're very.. magical and you might actually be able to grant us world peace if enough people wish for it, but I don't think we need Santa Clause to give us world peace. I want humans to actually achieve world peace all by themselves. That would be pretty awesome.

I've been rambling, which is a thing I do a lot. Sorry, Santa.

So, what do I really want for Christmas?

I want people to be happy.

Generic, huh? But, hear me out, hear me out. I want people to be happy no matter where they are, no matter who they're with, no matter what their religion might be. I want them to be happy this Christmas. The kids in slums and mansions, the parents at home and at work, and everyone in the world; I want them to at least feel a spark of joy even for just a single second, despite all the stress of Christmas shopping and working, I hope they all remember what Christmas is really about SNOW!!!

Oh, I want you to be happy too, Santa.

Thanks.

P.S.
Did that make any sense? I felt like I was just blabbering on and on. Apologies if I came off as pretentious. This bothers me for some reason.
