The Christmas Tag!

Saturday, December 12, 2015 1 Comments A+ a-

I may or may not have forgotten to mention the tag I'm doing for the entirety of December, my bad. Anyway, I'm (re)doing a tag created by Ali of Aliology called the 12 Posts of Christmas. I deliberately failed to do this tag last year, so I shall try again. I failed to make a separate post explaining the actual tag, so I'll just link you to my post last year. As for my second post for the tag, I'm doing another tag (how complex)!

Okay so I'm going to be completely honest and admit that I googled "Christmas blog post ideas". I found the Christmas Tag done by the people behind Makeup Savvy and created by Becky of Milk Bubble Tea. I also took some questions from the Christmas Tag from Makeup Pixi3

It's basically just Christmas-y questions that I have to answer. I tag whoever is reading this right now and all those who have just run out of Christmas post ideas. I'll put the questions at the bottom of the post so that you guys could copy and paste it whenever ya feel like it.

1. What is your favorite Christmas movie?
It's a pretty hard battle between Elf and Home Alone. Both are amazing Christmas-y films and if you haven't seen them yet, I suggest you do it right now. But, let's be honest, who the heck hasn't watched them yet? I haven't met (and I don't intend to meet) anyone who doesn't love both films.

Ahh, my spirit animals.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
It's kind of a family tradition that we all stay up on Christmas Eve and open our presents at exactly 12 AM on the 25th.

3. Do you have a favorite Christmas memory?
I have a lot of favorite Christmas memories, but the one that tops the list was the first Christmas I clearly remember. I was 6 or 7 and we spent Christmas at our first home, which back then was really small and cozy. I was with my complete family; my parents, grandparents, siblings, and first cousin. Christmas dinner was really simple, but the ambiance and the Christmas spirit was ever present. I remember opening gifts with my siblings. I remember everyone smiling and laughing. It was a pretty cool Christmas scene.

4. Favorite festive food?
I'm going to be super generic and say that I love Christmas Ham. Oh, but my mom makes these really good cordon bleu!

5. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Aside from the Christmas dinner, family prayers, and the usual Christmas conference calls with relatives, when I was younger, we would spend the day before Christmas Eve creating letters to Santa. Then, on Christmas Eve, Santa would write back to us and leave our presents under the tree. I do miss that and wish to do it again this year, just to see what Santa will do!

6. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
The first thing that popped into my head was the My Life handheld console that Cartoon Network would not stop advertising when I was 9! I wanted it so bad. It was pretty much the era of dress-up games and sims, so this game was the dream. I begged my parents to get it, but they both thought we all ha enough consoles at home. Needless to say, I never got it. I wonder if they still have it in stores...

7. Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or synthetic?
Since we live in the Philippines, getting a real Christmas tree would be too impossible. I've never experienced having one, but I would love to try it someday (haha). We've always used synthetic, but my mom goes over the top with decorating.

8. What's your favorite color scheme for decorating the tree?
Blue! I love it when our tree sends a Blue Christmas vibe. It might seem sad, but it looks really good to me! It makes the room feel a little cooler (temperature wise).

9. Christmas day fashion?
Hands down, pajamas and sweaters. It's not super cold here during December, but it's cold enough! We usually don't go out during Christmas day. We all stay home and watch Christmas films and eat leftovers from the previous night.

10. What's the best part of Christmas for you?
Christmas Eve! We get to reflect on the birth of our Savior and I get to be with my family. Although, to be very honest, I love the entirety of December. I love the Christmas vibe everywhere and I love love love the weather.

Aaaand that was pretty much all of the questions. I tag everyone reading this right now. I put the questions below so you could easily copy n' paste them and start answering!
